Digital Networks Releases Openvirt 1.4

Release 1.4 of Openvirt was released today. This is the first release which now features a web based control panel.

Updates to the system include:

• Linux kernel 2.6.31
• KVM hypervisor 2.6.31
• QEMU-KVM 11.0
• Libvirt 0.7.2
• Web Control Panel Release 5

The new Web Control Panel is available for the first time. In the web control panel you can:

• Start, stop, pause and resume the virtual machines
• Migrate virtual machines between hosts
• Create new virtual machines
• Clone virtual machines using templates
• Run a Java console to the virtual machines
• Get a Global View across your whole cluster
• Manage the physical hosts in the cluster
• Manage disk images used for the virtual machines storage
• Mange ISO images used to install operating systems on the virtual machines
• Check system performance
• Setup networking
• Manage iSCSI connections
• Setup and start or stop the secure FTP server
