Q. How do I obtain Openvault?
A. Openvault is only available with our disk based Teravault storage systems.

Q. How much does Openvault cost?
A. Openvault is free of charge. There are no license fees and professional support is optional.

Q. Is Openvault a fork of Ubuntu Server?
A. No. Openvault uses Ubuntu Server as the base operating system and adds a custom Linux kernel plus a web based control panel to manage the storage infrastructure.

Q. Does Openvault support high availability?
A. Yes. Openvault supports fully synchronous replication between two Teravault storage servers.
The Failover service can provide automatic failover in the event of failure of the active server.
Storage services can also be "live migrated" from one storage server to another.

Q. Do I need a Linux PC to manage a storage server that is running Openvault?
A. No. The Openvault infrastructure is managed through a web browser. It works with any device that has a web browser including smart phones and tablet computers.
