iSCSI VMware Solutions

We provide iSCSI solutions for VMware. From cost effective Gigabit Ethernet to high performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet, we offer easy to manage low cost solutions for VMware.

This page shows just how easy it is to integrate one of our hardware Teravault storage servers running an iSCSI solution with VMware ESX 4.0. This example uses 10 Gigabit Ethernet but the procedure is the same for standard Gigabit Ethernet.

iSCSI Integration With VMware ESX

In the VMware vSphere Client, go to Storage Adapters. Add the iSCSI Software Adapter. It will now appear on the list of storage adapters.

Click on Properties. Run Dynamic Discovery on the iSCSI target server. The iSCSI disk now appears in the list of devices. In this example we have connected a 1000GB iSCSI target disk.

In the VMware vSphere Client, go to Storage. You can now add the iSCSI device. In this example we've created a VMFS3 filesystem on the device. It's now ready for use for virtual disks.

It's that easy. This setup will provide a shared storage solution between multiple physical hosts. It will allow you to do live migration between hosts and do high availability.

Openvault

In this example, we've used a Teravault disk storage server with Openvault to provide the iSCSI solution.
