iSCSI Windows Solutions

We provide iSCSI solutions for Windows. From cost effective Gigabit Ethernet to high performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet, we offer easy to manage low cost solutions for Windows.

This page shows just how easy it is to integrate one of our hardware Teravault storage servers running an iSCSI solution with Windows Server. This example uses 10 Gigabit Ethernet but the procedure is the same for standard Gigabit Ethernet.

This example uses Windows Server 2008 R2, but the process is essentially the same for Windows Server 2003.

iSCSI Integration With Windows Server 2008

This is the network adapter we'll use for connecting to the iSCSI target server. It's an Intel X520 adapter running at 10 Gigabit.

Start the Windows iSCSI Initiator. In the Target box, enter the IP address of the iSCSI target server. Click Quick Connect.

Windows will discover the iSCSI target and automatically connect to it. Click Done.

Start Computer Management and go to Disk Management. Let Windows initialise the newly discovered disk. In this example, you'll notice Disk 1 is the iSCSI disk and it's size is 1000GB.

Now create a new simple volume on the iSCSI disk. In this example, we've assigned it as drive D and formatted the volume as NTFS with label "iSCSI".

It's that easy. You can now use the iSCSI disk exactly like it was physical attached to the server.

Openvault

In this example, we've used a Teravault disk storage server with Openvault to provide the iSCSI solution.
